I got to meet my friend Nicolas for the first time on a playdate at Pretend City in Irvine. Mama told me to give him a kiss and I gave him my ear. =)

Mama gets to stay with me for a few more days and then she has to go back to work. =( Yesterday I had my 15 month checkup. I now weigh 22 lbs and am 30 1/4 in tall. I am getting so big! I fell asleep after seeing the doctor while waiting to get my shots. Surprisingly enough, they did the finger prick while I was sleeping and I didn't even flinch. But as soon as they poked me with the first needle, I got sorta mad. After three pokes (2 in one leg and 1 in the other), I cried a little bit but mama says I was so brave because I was okay after a minute or so. I got to stay home today to recover but it's back to school for me in the morning!

Visit to the Aquarium

Daddy, Mama, and I went to the SeaLife Aquarium next to LegoLand in Carlsbad. It was soooo cool and I had lots of fun. Mom and Dad had no idea how many times I would say "fish" and "wowwwww"!

Hello Strep...Goodbye Binky!

Mama picked me up last Monday after my first day as a Lightning Bug and my teacher told her that I had been acting different since I woke up from my nap. When mama got me home, I had a fever of 103 and was feeling really yucky. Daddy stayed home with me on Tuesday but I felt horrible. I didn't want to eat anything at all and keep signing for "milk". Mama got home from work and could tell something more was wrong than just an ear infection so she took me to urgent care to get checked out. I ended up having strep throat (and let me tell you how much I HATED when the doctor shoved that dang stick down my throat!!) and an ear infection. =( No wonder I felt like crap. I stayed home with either mom or dad through Thursday. I was feeling so much better on my antibiotics and finally started eating again. Mama was really happy because she was really sad seeing how sick I was. =(

On Friday, Mama took me over to Khalielah's house so she could watch me for the morning while she finished stuff up at work. Mama said I was well enough to go to school but since it was already Friday and I had such a tough week, she felt more comfortable keeping me out of school for one more day since I could also have the weekend to get better. I had so much fun playing with Mahalia! Khalielah said I was a good girl, even though I really missed my mom!

I decided while I was sick that I hated my binkster so mama put them all away. I have even found some laying around the house and I take them over to one of my parents because I really don't want a binky anymore. =) Mama said she was so proud of me and very surprised at how quickly I took myself off of it. However, she said she is also said that one of the few "baby" things I had left is gone now too. Growing up is so fun!!!
