Happy Halloween!!!

I had a very busy Halloween! Mama decided to dress me up as a raccoon for Halloween. See January 25 2009 post on Mama's old pregnancy blog to get the full story behind the outfit that became my costume.

On Friday, I got to bring my costume to school and practiced how to trick or treat by visiting the elderly friends that are at my daycare. I had so much fun. I got to wear my cool "oinch" shirt one more time this year to school.

Mama was gone on a work trip until Saturday night, so just like she promised, we carved my pumpkin after I ate breakfast this morning. I had so much fun digging in it!

I was pretty excited after I got dressed up to go to my friend Kayla's house with Mom and Dad.

I liked Kayla's Elmo chair.

I LOVE Kayla! Isn't this the sweetest picture of us?

Checking out Landon's dinosaur costume

Wow, Kayla is Elmo!

I was REALLY excited when I finally got to head out to go trick or treating!

This raccoon knows how to chill!

Going to the zoo, zoo, zoo...How about you, you, you?

I am so glad that by Friday afternoon I was finally starting to feel better from my awful sickness. I ended up having to miss school all week because my fever just wouldn't go away. It stayed between 102 and 104 for nearly 3 days, even with the aid of tylenol/motrin. =( I was so miserable and could barely sleep. Mama took me back to the doctor, where they attached this really uncomfortable bag to my "private area" and I was supposed to pee in it. Well, I peed alright, but of course NONE of it went in the bag. So back to the doctor we went to get ANOTHER bag attached. Mama had three cups in her purse (water, juice, and milk). She made me drink so much and then I got to walk around outside the doctor's office. Filled the bag in 10 minutes. =) Fortunately the test came back negative for a UTI. Unfortunately, I also developed a horrible rash from having an allergic reaction to my antibiotics. It started just on my tummy and back but spread all over. I'm glad it didn't bother me. Once I got my new medicine, I started to feel a whole lot better. After being trapped in the house all week, I was glad to get to enjoy some time with my Uncle Dave and Aunt Hilary today. Me, mama, and dad me them at the zoo today and I had a lot of fun!

My smiles are finally back!

I was trying my best to wrap Uncle Dave around my finger. It worked.

Kissing the bird statue

It started sprinkling but I was pretty exhausted already so was ready to head home!

Thanks for visiting me! XOXOXOXO

These Boots are Made for Walkin'.....

Don't I look so cool in my mom's boots!?

I love my family!

I am so good at saying all of my grandparents' names now! I say "Vovo", "Papa", "Mema", "G-ampa", "PoPo" and "GongGong" very clearly. All of my uncles are universally "un-koh" but I do have 5 of them so that's a lot of names to remember! Every time I see photos around the house of people in my family, I like to point at them and say who everyone is. This makes my mom happy that I at least know my family members' names, even though I don't get to see them very often. With the holidays coming up, I am hoping to get to see everyone so very soon! Here's a picture my mom found of me with PoPo and GongGong right after I ate some dim sum! I don't LOVE dim sum yet, but I am starting to eat more of it now!

Pumpkin Patch Fiasco

After last year's miserable trip to the pumpkin patch (remember, Emma ended up in urgent care with pink eye and an ear infection?), we were hoping for a more positive experience this year. Well, after not seeing a SINGLE picture of Emma smiling, my mommy instincts kicked in and I figured she was probably not feeling well. Low and behold, we wound up at the doctor's office Monday afternoon with a double ear infection. The past few days have been miserable for Emma. She has been running a fever between 102 and 104 and sleeping on and off. When not sleeping, she is crying. This afternoon, it seems as though the fever has finally subsided and hopefully she is on the road to recovery!

"What are you looking at mom? I'm just trying to blend in with all the pumpkins!"

It is like torture to get her to take pictures with me these days!

While yelling something, she saw the giant inflatable slide. Once she got her heart set on that, the mood was downhill from there. She just did NOT want to hear that she was too small to go on that slide!

I am pretty sure she was telling me off for some reason.

Long Overdue Update

Life has been very busy in the Lui house since Mama went back to work at the beginning of September. I have changed a lot and am growing more each day. In a few more days, I will be 17 months old already! Mama calls me her "spirited" child. This basically means that mom is trying to be nice and I really like to have my own way and do things for myself. I like to scream pretty loud and stomp my feet or throw myself on the floor when things don't go my way. I have a strong opinion about things but overall, I'm still pretty easy going. =)

I can say a lot of new words now. I understand a lot more than I can express right now, but I'm really good at following directions when my parents ask me. I know lots of animal sounds, my body parts and all of my family members. I can put all my own dirty laundry away, clean up my toys, and clear off and wipe my tray when I'm finished eating. I like to say "hi" to EVERYONE. Here is a video showing off how smart I am.

I get to go to the pumpkin patch with my parents today. I'll post pictures soon!
