Sick again...

Emma and I returned from yet another visit to see Jennifer at the doctor's office. Diagnosis.....icky ear infection (this is #3), upper respiratory infection, and constipation. Solution.....antibiotics, inhaler with a baby mask, and suppository. Looks like it is going to be a crappy evening for Emma (no pun intended).....

I lied about the video....

Emma NEVER does anything for the camera so I was surprised to actually have caught her clapping on camera.

"Ba-bye!"

Sorry no photos, videos, or cute Emma quotes this time. She is taking a nap so I decided to hack in and do a quick post. Popo, Gonggong, and Uncle Jon are on their way for a visit so Ms. Crankster needed a little nap. Emma has not been napping or eating very well for the past few days. She still has a lingering hacking cough but upon inspection of her mouth, I did just discover that her 5th tooth has cut through. She now has her two middle bottom teeth. The situation on the top of her mouth is a little busted....of her top front four top teeth, the only one that has not cut yet is her front right tooth. So, yes this means she has two side teeth and one front tooth, so she resembles a hillbilly. Good thing she's still so darn cute!

Emma has enlightened us with some other new behaviors in the past couple of weeks. She shakes her head no whenever she is told the word no. She now will throw mini tantrums as well, including arching her back, throwing herself backwards on the floor, and screaming/shrieking. She consistently signs "all done", when she is done with what she is eating and when she doesn't want anymore kisses from mommy. =)

This past week, she started clapping. It's pretty cute. She especially likes clapping for herself. She has also been standing more by herself. While standing, she is now able to use her super muscular little legs to squat down from standing to sitting without holding on to anything. Still no signs of wanting to walk though.

On Friday, when I picked Emma up from school, she waved bye bye to one of her teachers while very clearly saying "ba-bye". We all laughed and giggled and she repeated it again for Ms. Pilar. Now she is waving and saying "ba-bye" to everyone. She attracted enough attention before, but now her verbal interactions with others seem to make her even more popular. She made a lot of friends at Costco last night!

In a few weeks, Emma and I will be embarking on our first plane ride together. We'll be flying up to San Jose to spend some time with Kapuna and Vovo. Hopefully I survive the plane ride! We will have a brief visit with Mema and Grandpa Rai. Quite honestly, I am also pretty dang excited to eat me some Happi House! Nom, nom, nom, nom.........
