The doctor is so fun. They let me play with these fun lights and eat sticks. How exciting! I went on Friday for my 9 month check up. I woke up Friday morning with a cough and runny nose so mommy had them check that out for me. Ears and lungs are clear for now! So now that I am 9 months old, I weigh 19 lbs 4 oz. and am 28 inches long! Mommy said she couldn't believe how big I am now! This puts me in the 65-70% for height and weight!
The doctor said everything was great. I am right on track developmentally and am growing just like I should be. They had to prick my finger to take blood to test for iron (iron counts are normal!). Fortunately at this appointment, I only had to get one shot (to catch up when the shot was back-ordered). I didn't even flinch with the finger and let out a small whimper with the shot, but no crying or tears! Mommy was so proud of me. Because I am still sensitive to foods and mommy is really scared of what will happen if I eat it directly (as opposed to through her milk), my doctor put in a referral for me to see an allergist. Mommy was hesitant about this type of appointment but knowing the severity of my allergies is very important to make sure I stay safe. Once the referral goes through, mommy said she will make daddy come to the doctor with us since she is too sad to go by herself. Apparently they will do a plethora of scratch tests on my back and see how I react. This does NOT sound fun. I'll keep you posted with how that goes.
