Since Emma is sound asleep, I decided to do this post to update everyone on the saga of Emma's allergies. Larry and I took her to a pediatric allergist last week to finally found out what Emma was allergic to. After yet ANOTHER visit to the doctor for a double ear infection, it was suspected that Emma might be allergic to something environmental, causing her to be more congested, causing more ear infections, and so on...... So at the appointment, the put the allergens on the ends of these little pins that were on a board. They took each board and pushed two different ones into Emma's back. She let out a very small yelp, but was very good waiting the 15 minutes before they could clean off her back. After testing for all of the foods that Emma used to have problems with while she was nursing (soy, dairy, wheat, eggs) and corn, peanuts, strawberries, pineapple, dust, and cats, the results showed her only food allergy to be to pineapple! This was quite the relief to me. I was so excited that she could eat some more food like a real kid! =) Unfortunately, the other two red flare ups on her back were from cats and dust. We are trying a few things at home before shipping Chloe off. Sad to say that now that I am paying more attention, Emma is considerably more congested when she is around the kitty. I would be so sad if Chloe had to go away, but I do have to consider Emma's health. We go back to the doctor on Monday to make sure the ears are A-okay.

Poor, poor Emma...and poor Mommy and Daddy, too. Give that sweetness a big hug and kiss from me (and Grayson).
Poor Emma! If you ever need to help build her tolerance to dust and animals, I offer our home! ;-P
Precious Emma,
You have had to endure so much in your short life but now we know what you are allergic to. It is sad that you are part Hawaiian and you can't eat pineapple. At least you love mangoes.
Hopefully soon you will be feeling better. At least you are now going to be able to have a "real" birthday cake.
We love you so much,
Mema and Grandpa Rai
